Subsplash integration for your church app

Add MinistryAlign to your Subsplash app with one link.

Members get push notifications, home-screen install, and their own My Walk — without leaving the church app you already run.

What this integration does

  • Adds push notifications and home-screen install to your Subsplash church app — features Subsplash's in-app browser can't run on its own.
  • Lets members open My Walk, find-a-church, or any MinistryAlign page from a Subsplash tile with one tap.
  • Takes about two minutes to set up. No API partnership, no developer, no extra cost.

What it does today

One link inside Subsplash

Add a tile pointing at /open?to=/dashboard. That's the whole integration.

In-app webview escape

We detect Subsplash's in-app browser and open Safari or Chrome so sessions, push, and OAuth actually work.

Deep-link anywhere

Send members to /my/walk, /find-a-church, or any MinistryAlign page with a single URL parameter.

Add to home screen + push

Once in the real browser, members install MinistryAlign like any PWA and start getting daily verse + reminder pushes.

How it works

  1. 1

    Add the link in Subsplash

In your Subsplash dashboard, add a button, tile, or menu item that opens https://ministryalign.app/open?to=/dashboard.

  2. 2

Member taps it in your app

MinistryAlign detects the Subsplash webview and shows a one-tap 'Open in my browser' handoff — Chrome on Android, Safari on iOS.

  3. 3

They land in the real browser

Session persists, push works, and we walk them through Add to Home Screen so MinistryAlign lives on their phone alongside your Subsplash app.

What it does not do (yet)

We'd rather be clear than oversell. If any of this is a dealbreaker, tell us — it shapes the roadmap.

  • • No official Subsplash API partnership — this is a public link handoff.
  • • No shared login between the Subsplash app and MinistryAlign; members sign in once on their first browser visit.
  • • Push notifications come from MinistryAlign, not from Subsplash's push channel.

Questions we hear

How does MinistryAlign work inside a Subsplash app?

You add a tile or button in Subsplash that links to https://ministryalign.app/open?to=/dashboard. Subsplash's in-app browser can't run push, save sessions, or install to the home screen, so we detect the webview and hand the member off to Safari or Chrome with one tap. From there they can add MinistryAlign to their home screen like any PWA.

Is this an official Subsplash partnership?

No — MinistryAlign works alongside Subsplash through a public link handoff. There's no API contract between us. Your church controls the link in your Subsplash dashboard.

Why not just render MinistryAlign inside the Subsplash webview?

In-app webviews (Subsplash, Planning Center, Instagram, Facebook) block the browser features MinistryAlign relies on: persistent sessions, web push, add-to-home-screen, OAuth. Handing off to the real browser is the only way members get the full experience.

Can I deep-link to a specific page?

Yes. Pass any path as the to= parameter, e.g. /open?to=/my/walk or /open?to=/find-a-church. Unsafe values fall back to /dashboard.

Do members have to install anything?

No install. After the first tap, they can add MinistryAlign to their home screen (iOS: Share → Add to Home Screen; Android: ⋮ → Install app) and it opens full-screen with push notifications.
